Rodger and Cindy Whitson own a 10 acre property just outside of Mosgiel. They had owned the property for 21 years when they first started growing gentians and paeonies. In 2004 they diversified into growing hydroponic herbs and salad vegetables and have grown this into a very slick operation. Neither Rodger nor Cindy had horticultural experience or qualifications but their operation is a testament to learning from trial and error. They started trading at the market at about this time.

Valda and the late Otto's orchard is truly a labour of love and a story of perseverance, fortitude and unrelenting hard work.

The Pane Ora team is made up of 2 surfers (both chefs by trade) and a skater (and excellent baker) – Sam, Jed & Pietro. They share a strong connection with the moana and the whenua of Aotearoa and New Zealand, and are often witnessing the effects humanity has on ao tūroa, our natural world. As lovers of food, they aspire to use their passion to join the kaitaki (guardians) of Aotearoa in creating a cleaner, more sustainable, and harmonious future.
